Parent Voice

As an outward facing school it is important that we gather the views of one of the most important parts of our school family; our parents and carers.

At various times throughout the year, we ask parents to complete surveys on a range of areas of school life, for example most recently the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and the Christian ethos and values of our school.

“It’s very good to see the after school clubs flourishing and so many children attending. There is a good selection of clubs on offer. It’s also great to see the various ambassador and councillor initiatives. I think they are really good for developing and building on other skills. Taking an active part within the school like this, will do wonders for their confidence.” Parent of Year 6 child (January 2025)

“The increase offer of cultural capital experiences and extra curricular clubs. Also they increased in meaningful student leadership opportunities.” Parent of Year 3 child (January 2025)

“The enrichment activities have been great, both in school and out of school. Thank you for your efforts in organising these.” Parent of Year 2 child (January 2025)

“Very happy with it and how the options have grown. Good options and new clubs can also help to encourage children into trying something they not have considered before.” Parent of Year 4 child (January 2025)

“The school were really supportive and enthusiastic about an out of school achievement of my son, which they celebrated in school and it was really appreciated.” Parent of Year 5 child (January 2025)

“My child has achieved a lot in this year at St Aelred’s not only academically but also in her confidence and growing in to a kind intelligent young individual. We are very happy with the school. Also the class teacher our child has is fantastic and we feel very lucky to have them.” Parent of Year 6 child (January 2025)

“My child in year 3 was proud to become and anti bullying ambassador. The increased profile of student leadership is a strength. I also really like the introduction of the Spirit of St Aelred award as a way to celebrate those students who go above and beyond.” Parent of Year 3 child (January 2025)
