Please note, if your child attends our school nursery, you must still make a formal application for a place at St Aelred’s school through the local authority.

In-Year Admissions
St Aelred’s Catholic Primary School participates in the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admission Scheme for in-year admissions. If parents/carers wish to apply for a school place, applications can be made at https://www.york.gov.uk/SchoolAdmissions via the Parent Portal. The Local Authority will confirm the outcome of the application in writing within 15 school days. If the application is refused, the Local Authority will advise on the statutory appeal procedure. Details of the Co-ordinated Admission Scheme and how in-year applications are managed are also available at https://www.york.gov.uk/SchoolAdmi
An in-year supplementary information form must be completed for each individual child wishing to transfer to St Aelred’s part-way through the academic year. Please click here to complete the form
Admission Appeals
For admission appeals, please click here
•The admission authority for the school must allow parents at least
20 days to appeal from when the decision letters are sent out.
•The admission authority will submit a deadline for submitting your
appeal.
•If you submit anything after the deadline, it might not be
considered and may result in delays to your hearing.
•Appeals should be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for
making an appeal.
•An independent panel will hear appeals by 31 August at the latest each year.
